American Transmission Systems, Inc., a FirstEnergy company, proposes to conduct grading and site preparation activities for the ABB Group to construct and operate a new Static VAR Compensator (SVC) facility on the site of an existing coal storage area associated with the Lakeshore Power Plant. The SVC facility will be fenced area containing electrical equipment, including an unoccupied electrical control building. The SVC facility will be constructed on Lakeshore Power Plant property which is zoned General Industry by the City of Cleveland.
